What Is A Vertebral Subluxation And How Can It Cause Problems?

A subluxation is a spinal segment that is out of place, not dislocated (luxation, hence the term sub-luxation). This misalignment can cause many symptoms due to irritation to the surrounding tissues: discs, blood flow, ligaments, muscles, adjacent spinal segments, and most importantly the spinal nerves. This nerve irritation is reason subluxations can cause pain, illness, and poor health. These spinal nerves carry almost all the signals the body needs to perform any healthy function. Breathing, walking, and digestion all of these functions due to proper spinal nerve flow.

For the brain to control any of your body’s functions it has to use nerves to send these signals. Because of this pain or discomfort may not be the only symptom of a Subluxations. The spinal nerves of the mid back control the pancreas, liver, and gallbladder just to name a few. If these organs are not receiving proper instructions due to nerve impingement it can lead to feeling bloated, headache due to blood toxicity, and even diabetes! When the spinal nerves of the lower back are impinged, the common condition of “Sciatica” isn’t the only form of dis-ease that can occur. These nerves carry signals for the body’s abilities to digest, perform sexual activity, and balance properly. Constipation, impotence, bladder problems, and falling can all be contributed to subluxations.
A Chiropractic physician is the only professional trained to specifically diagnose and treat spinal subluxations. Those needing Chiropractic care not only see benefits of pain relief, but also has the benefit of improved overall health due to optimum, uninterrupted nerve flow.
