Repetitive Strain Injury Treatment in Coral Springs & Parkland

The motion you repeat every day — typing, gripping, swinging, scrolling — can quietly overload a tendon or nerve until it hurts. We find the overuse pattern behind your RSI and treat it, drug-free.

Repetitive strain injury treatment at The Spine and Wellness Center begins by uncovering the exact movement and joint that are overloading your tissue — then unwinding the damage, drug-free. We've helped Coral Springs and Parkland patients recover from overuse injuries since 2005.

Medically reviewed by Dr. Jared Cohen, DC · Updated June 2026

RSIs rarely arrive with a single dramatic injury. Instead, they accumulate — one keystroke, one swing, one lift at a time — until a tendon, nerve or joint finally protests. By then the pain feels like it came out of nowhere, but the cause has been building for months. Reaching for a brace or an anti-inflammatory may quiet the ache for a while, yet the repeated motion keeps re-injuring the same tissue. We do the opposite: we identify the precise overuse pattern, calm the inflamed structures, and rebuild the joint so it can take that load again without breaking down.

Common Causes of Repetitive Strain Injury

  • Hours of keyboard, mouse and trackpad use
  • Repeated gripping with tools, machinery or assembly work
  • Racket, golf and overhead sports motions
  • Phone, tablet and scrolling-driven thumb & wrist strain
  • Poor ergonomics and sustained awkward postures
  • Weak supporting muscles and inadequate recovery time

How We Treat Repetitive Strain Injury in Coral Springs & Parkland

Every RSI loads the body a little differently, so we layer the right therapies into one coordinated plan built around your activity and your goals:

Chiropractic Adjustments

Restore proper motion to the wrist, elbow, shoulder and spine so overloaded joints share the work again.

Soft Tissue & Myofascial Therapy

Release the tight, scarred tendons and muscles that repeated motion has knotted and inflamed.

Physical Therapy

Rebuild strength, endurance and ergonomics so the injured tissue can handle daily load without flaring.

Cold Laser Therapy

Drive down inflammation and speed healing deep in irritated tendons and nerves.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

We start by mapping how you actually use the painful area — your job, your workouts, your hobbies — because that's where the strain is coming from. We examine the affected joint along with the structures above and below it, check your posture and movement with digital tools like MyoVision, and pinpoint which tissue is overloaded and why. From there we lay out a clear, personalized plan — including simple ways to unload the aggravating motion between visits — so you understand each step of your recovery. Many RSI patients feel steady improvement within the first few weeks of care.

Repetitive Strain Injury FAQ

Questions, Answered

What exactly is a repetitive strain injury?
A repetitive strain injury (RSI) is damage that builds up over time when the same motion, grip or posture is repeated for hours, days or years. Typing, gripping tools, swinging a racket, scrolling a phone or assembly-line work can all overload tendons, nerves and muscles until they become inflamed and painful.
Where in the body do RSIs usually show up?
Most commonly the wrist, forearm, elbow, shoulder and neck. Carpal tunnel, tennis and golfer's elbow, rotator-cuff strain and thumb tendinitis are all overuse injuries. We trace the symptom back to the joint and posture actually driving it.
Can a chiropractor treat repetitive strain injuries without surgery?
Yes. We combine joint adjustments, soft-tissue and myofascial release, targeted rehab and cold laser to calm the inflamed tissue and restore normal movement — addressing the overuse pattern instead of masking it with medication or rushing to surgery.
How long does it take to recover from an RSI?
Because RSIs build up gradually, recovery is also progressive. Many patients notice less pain and better mobility within the first few weeks, with steady gains over a course of care. Your timeline depends on how long the injury has been present and how much you can modify the aggravating activity.
Do you treat RSI patients near Parkland, Margate and Tamarac?
Yes. Our Coral Springs office on Coral Ridge Drive is minutes from Parkland, Margate, Tamarac, Boca Raton and Pompano Beach, and we welcome overuse-injury patients from across South Florida.
Do you accept insurance for repetitive strain injury treatment?
Yes, we accept most major medical insurance plans and offer same-day appointments in Coral Springs and Parkland. Call (954) 341-2256 to verify your coverage.
