Much of what stresses the spine is invisible from the outside. The MyoVision system uses surface electromyography (sEMG) — a small, handheld scanner glided along both sides of your spine — to read the electrical activity of the muscles that hold you upright. Those readings are graphed in color, showing where muscles are working too hard, too little or unevenly. It's an objective assessment, not a treatment: the scan gives Dr. Cohen a clear baseline to plan your care around and a simple way to track how your muscles respond as you progress.

What to Expect
There's nothing to prepare for. You'll stay fully clothed while a small handheld scanner is gently glided down each side of your spine — it reads surface muscle activity in seconds and feels like nothing more than light contact. The doctor then walks you through your color graph, explains what the readings suggest, and uses them to shape the right plan. Because the scan is so quick and comfortable, we can repeat it later to measure how your muscles are responding.
