Soccer Injury Treatment in Coral Springs & Parkland
Ankle sprains, tweaked knees, pulled hamstrings — youth and high school soccer is hard on growing bodies. We help young players in Coral Springs and Parkland recover fully, move better and get safely back on the pitch, drug-free.
Soccer injury treatment at The Spine and Wellness Center is built for the way young athletes actually get hurt — the hard cut that rolls an ankle, the sprint that pulls a hamstring, the collision that jars the low back. We combine hands-on chiropractic and sports rehab to get Coral Springs and Parkland players healed and back to the game.

Youth and high school soccer is a start-stop, cut-and-sprint sport played on hard South Florida fields for long tournament weekends. That puts real load on ankles, knees, hips and the low back — often on bodies that are still growing, where bone, growth plates and soft tissue mature at different rates. A young player who plays for a club team, a school team and a travel side at the same time can rack up far more games and practices than their body has fully adapted to. Our job is to treat the injury that brought them in, find why it happened, and rebuild the movement so it holds.

Common Youth Soccer Injuries We Treat
Most of what we see falls into a handful of recognizable patterns. Naming the injury is only the start — what matters is understanding the mechanics behind it so the same weak link does not get re-injured a month later.
Ankle sprains
The single most common soccer injury. A planted foot rolls inward and overstretches the ligaments on the outside of the ankle. Early care to calm swelling, restore full motion and retrain balance is what keeps a first sprain from becoming a chronically unstable ankle.
Knee and ACL-region pain
Soccer's cutting and deceleration loads the knee hard, and young athletes — especially girls — carry a higher risk of ACL and other ligament injuries. We help with the patellar tendon, IT band and general knee overuse pain that often shows up first, and we screen landing and cutting mechanics. Any suspected ACL tear, locking, giving way or major swelling is referred promptly for imaging and an orthopedic opinion.
Hamstring, groin and hip strains
Explosive sprints and long kicks strain the hamstrings, adductors (groin) and hip flexors. These love to come back if a player returns too soon or the underlying hip mobility and strength imbalance is never addressed — which is exactly what our rehab targets.
Low back pain
Repeated kicking, twisting and core fatigue can leave young players with nagging low back pain. We evaluate the spine, hips and core control together, because in growing athletes low back pain deserves a careful look rather than being brushed off as a simple muscle strain.
Foot, shin and growth-plate overuse
Sever's disease (heel pain), shin splints and other overuse aches are common during growth spurts and heavy schedules. These usually respond well to load management, soft tissue work and targeted rehab.
Head Injuries & Concussion Safety
Soccer involves heading, collisions and falls, so head injuries deserve real respect. We want to be clear: a suspected concussion or any significant blow to the head is a medical emergency-adjacent situation that should be evaluated by a physician or emergency provider first — not managed on the field, and not treated with chiropractic alone. If a player shows confusion, a headache that worsens, vomiting, loss of consciousness, or neck pain after impact, they should be seen by a doctor right away and kept out of play. Once a young athlete has been properly assessed and medically cleared, we can help with the neck stiffness, balance and reconditioning that sometimes linger during recovery, working in coordination with their physician. For guidance on recognizing and responding to youth sports concussions, the CDC HEADS UP program is an excellent resource for parents and coaches.
How We Treat Soccer Injuries
Chiropractic Care
Restores joint motion in the spine, hips and extremities.
Graston Technique
Frees scar tissue and adhesions in strained muscle.
Cold Laser Therapy
Calms inflammation and supports tissue recovery.
Sports Rehab
Rebuilds strength, agility and safe return-to-play.
There is no single fix for a soccer injury, which is why we combine drug-free therapies into one plan. Gentle, age-appropriate chiropractic adjustments restore motion in the spine, hips and extremities so the whole chain moves well. The Graston Technique and massage work through the scar tissue and tightness left behind by strains. Cold laser therapy and other modalities help calm inflammation and support healing in the early phase. When back or disc pressure is part of the picture in an older teen, spinal decompression may be added. The through-line is progressive sports rehab — the strengthening and movement retraining that turns "the pain is gone" into "you are actually ready to compete again."
Agility, Mobility & Performance
The best way to treat a soccer injury is to make the next one less likely. Once a player is out of pain, we shift toward performance: hip and ankle mobility so they can cut cleanly, single-leg strength and balance for stability on plant and landing, core control for the trunk during sprints and shots, and movement retraining for how they decelerate and change direction. This matters most for the higher-risk knee and hamstring injuries, where quality of movement — not just raw strength — drives risk. Many South Florida club and travel families also use us for pre-season screens and in-season maintenance to keep young athletes durable across a long, hot season.

What to Expect
Your child's first visit starts with listening — how the injury happened, which games and teams they play, and where growth and schedule may be factors. We evaluate the injured area along with the joints above and below it, and we watch how they move. From there we explain what we found in plain language and lay out a plan with realistic timelines. We keep parents in the loop at every step, treat only what is appropriate for conservative care, and refer promptly to a physician, orthopedist or imaging when the situation calls for it. As the athlete improves, care shifts from calming symptoms to rebuilding strength and confidence for a safe return to soccer.
