Quick answer

The red light therapy Coral Springs and Parkland residents book is at The Spine and Wellness Center, 5675 Coral Ridge Drive — about 5 to 10 minutes from anywhere in Coral Springs. Your first visit is a measurement visit: goals, a structural exam, surface EMG and thermal scans, X-rays when indicated. Visit two is your full findings and plan, and full-body sessions on the SPECTRA S10 bed begin there.

Why active Coral Springs adults choose us for red light

There is more than one place to find red light therapy Coral Springs wide. Here is why active adults from Heron Bay, Eagle Trace and the Coral Springs Sportsplex keep choosing The Spine and Wellness Center — and have since 2005.

  • It is in the neighbourhood. The clinic is at 5675 Coral Ridge Drive, about 5 to 10 minutes from anywhere in Coral Springs via University Drive, Wiles Road or Coral Ridge Drive, with free parking at the door.
  • Hours that fit a training week. Open until 7:00 pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, with Wednesday afternoon and Friday morning hours, so a session fits after work or before the Sawgrass commute.
  • It is measured, not a kiosk. We typically see Coral Springs families, youth athletes from the Sportsplex and Mullins Park, golfers from Eagle Trace and Heron Bay, and commuters who use the Sawgrass every day. The light is one piece of a plan built on an exam and scans — not a bed you rent by the minute.

What the red light therapy Coral Springs athletes talk about actually is

The red light therapy Coral Springs runners, golfers and gym regulars mention to each other is a few minutes on a full-body bed at our clinic on Coral Ridge Drive. The bed is a SPECTRA S10 system: arrays of medical-grade diodes that emit visible red and near-infrared light at wavelengths the mitochondria inside your cells can absorb. The proper name is photobiomodulation.

That absorption is the whole story. Cells that take in the light produce more ATP — the energy they use to repair themselves — and the same stimulus is associated with better local circulation and lower inflammatory signalling. Red wavelengths stay near the surface, where skin and collagen live; near-infrared wavelengths reach deeper into muscle, joint capsules and connective tissue. One bed, both ranges, one session.

We have offered it as a measured wellness service in Coral Springs since the recovery suite opened, next to PEMF and IHHT oxygen therapy. It is not a treatment for any disease, and we say so. The mechanism in depth is on our main red light therapy page.

Recovery and skin comfort: what active adults use it for

Active Coral Springs adults are our largest red light group, and their goals are specific. A tennis player from Eagle Trace wants to feel less wrecked the morning after a match. A cyclist who rides the Sawgrass loop wants quicker recovery between long rides. A desk worker who lifts three evenings a week wants the shoulders to loosen. Those are recovery goals, and recovery is where the research on photobiomodulation is most encouraging.

  • Post-training recovery. Full-body near-infrared sessions after golf at Eagle Trace and Heron Bay or youth sports at the Sportsplex and Mullins Park, often paired with PEMF the same visit.
  • Everyday joint and muscle comfort. Light over a sore knee, hip or lower back before an adjustment, so the structural work is more comfortable.
  • Skin comfort and tone. Visible red light is associated with collagen production, which is why skin shows up on the list for adults who spend their weekends in the South Florida sun.
  • Energy and sleep. Whole-body sessions in the Regenerate phase of a plan, beside IHHT and BrainTap.

The honest framing: red light may support each of these. It does not treat a medical condition, results vary from person to person, and when something structural is driving the soreness — a disc, a facet joint, a rotator cuff — the exam, not the bed, is where we start.

What a session feels like, start to finish

Nothing about a session is complicated. You check in, we confirm the goal for the day, and you lie on the SPECTRA S10 bed while the arrays are positioned over the regions we are addressing — or the whole body for a Regenerate session. Eye protection goes on every time.

  1. Rest. A few comfortable minutes in a soft, warm glow — like lying in the morning sun without the UV. No sound, no vibration, no heat to brace against.
  2. Get up and go. No downtime, nothing to wash off, no restrictions for the rest of the day.
  3. Stack it. Most active adults schedule it on the same visit as an adjustment, decompression on the Triton DTS table, cold laser on a single hot spot, or a PEMF chair session.

Because the clinic is about 5 to 10 minutes from Heron Bay, Eagle Trace and the Coral Springs Sportsplex, people from Coral Springs tend to fit it between the gym and the school run rather than making a trip of it. That convenience is most of the reason red light becomes a habit rather than a one-off.

Where red light sits in the 4R Method — and when it is not the right tool

Every plan at The Spine and Wellness Center runs on the 4R Method — Repair, Rebuild, Regenerate, Refine. Red light appears in three of those phases. In Repair (3–5 visits a week, 4–8 weeks) it is targeted light over the painful region before decompression or an adjustment, to support comfort. In Rebuild (2–3 visits a week, 8–16 weeks) it supports the tissue as corrective care and rehab load it on purpose. In Regenerate (about twice a week for two months or more) it becomes full-body sessions for energy, sleep and recovery, beside IHHT, PEMF and BrainTap. Refine is a monthly tune-up.

Active adults with no pain story usually begin in Regenerate once the measurement visit has confirmed nothing structural is hiding under the soreness. That is the difference between the red light therapy Coral Springs residents get here and a bed they could rent by the minute: ours is placed inside a plan built from an exam.

When it is not the right tool, we say so. Photosensitising medications (some antibiotics, retinoids, certain supplements), active cancer or recent radiation in the treatment area, pregnancy (nothing over the abdomen), light-sensitive eye conditions, and open wounds or fresh injections at the site each change or postpone the protocol. A widely cited review in the National Library of Medicine describes the mitochondrial and anti-inflammatory mechanisms (Hamblin, PMC), and Cleveland Clinic notes red light shows promise for skin, wound healing and some pain conditions while larger studies are still needed (Cleveland Clinic). Results vary.

Your first two visits

We measure before we treat, even for a wellness session, because a sore back that turns out to be a disc needs decompression before it needs a light bed. Visit one is a conversation about your goals, a hands-on structural exam, surface EMG and thermal scanning along the spine, and digital X-rays when indicated.

Visit two is your report of findings with Dr. Jared Cohen, DC — what the scans show, where red light fits in your 4R plan and how often — and sessions begin that day. If you want a head start, the 60-second spine assessment gives us your Spine Score before you drive over from Heron Bay. Parkland neighbours can also read our dedicated Parkland red light page.

Frequently asked questions

How long is a red light session?

A session on the SPECTRA S10 full-body bed takes only a few minutes, plus a short check-in to confirm the goal for the day. There is no preparation and nothing to wash off afterwards, so most patients pair it with an adjustment, a decompression session or rehab on the same visit.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on the goal and the 4R phase you are in. Recovery and comfort goals are usually scheduled a few times a week for a few weeks; whole-body Regenerate sessions run about twice a week for two months or more. Some people notice a change quickly, others build benefit over a series, and we adjust as you respond.

What is the difference between red light therapy and cold laser?

Both use photobiomodulation. Cold laser delivers a concentrated dose from a handpiece to a single small area — a knee, an elbow, one spinal level — and is a Repair-phase tool for acute spots. Red light on the SPECTRA S10 bed covers large regions or the whole body at once, which suits recovery, wellness and skin goals in the later phases.

Do you offer same-day red light sessions in Coral Springs?

Usually, yes. Same-day appointments are often available at 5675 Coral Ridge Drive, about 5 to 10 minutes from anywhere in Coral Springs, so the red light therapy Coral Springs residents search for can start the week you call. Your first visit is a measurement visit — goals, exam, surface EMG and thermal scans, X-rays when indicated — and sessions begin on visit two.

Is there parking at the clinic?

Yes. Free parking is right outside the door at 5675 Coral Ridge Drive — no garage, no meters, no validation. Most Coral Springs patients find it simpler than parking at a medical tower, and a red light session is short enough to fit between errands.

Which Coral Springs neighbourhoods do you serve?

All of them. We regularly see patients from Heron Bay, Eagle Trace, the Coral Springs Sportsplex, Mullins Park and Coral Square Mall and across the 33065, 33067, 33071, 33073 and 33076 ZIP codes. Wherever you are in Coral Springs, the drive is about 5 to 10 minutes via University Drive, Wiles Road or Coral Ridge Drive, and we schedule sessions around your commute and training.
