Neck Pain Treatment in Boca Raton, FL
The Spine and Wellness Center, Coral Springs — about 20 to 25 minutes from Boca Raton via the Sawgrass Expressway and Hillsboro Boulevard, or Glades Road to US-441. Same-day appointments are usually available.
Quick answer
The closest clinic for measured, non-surgical neck pain treatment near Boca Raton is The Spine and Wellness Center at 5675 Coral Ridge Drive, Coral Springs, about 20 to 25 minutes from Boca Raton. The first visit is an exam with surface EMG, thermal scanning and X-rays when indicated; the second is your report of findings, where treatment — gentle adjustments and, for disc patterns, cervical decompression — begins.
Why Boca Raton patients choose us for neck pain treatment
The Spine and Wellness Center has cared for Boca Raton families since 2005. Here is why they keep choosing us for neck pain treatment in Boca Raton rather than a clinic down the street.
- Close enough to be routine. The clinic is about 20 to 25 minutes from Boca Raton via the Sawgrass Expressway and Hillsboro Boulevard, or Glades Road to US-441. Free parking is at the door, and we schedule follow-ups around your commute so the drive stays a non-issue.
- Hours built for working people. Open until 7:00 pm three evenings a week (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday), plus Wednesday afternoons and Friday mornings.
- Care that fits Boca Raton life. We regularly treat Boca Raton golfers and tennis players from Boca West and Broken Sound, retirees who want to stay active, FAU students and staff, and I-95 commuters. That experience shapes everything from the exam to the home-care plan.
Why does my neck hurt — and why won’t it settle?
Neck pain treatment in Boca Raton should not begin with a prescription. It should begin with a clear answer about what is hurt: a cervical disc, a facet joint, a nerve root or the muscles guarding them. Each one needs a different approach, and treating the wrong one is why relief fades within days.
In our experience, a neck that keeps flaring almost always means a structure that was never fully corrected — a disc still under load from forward posture, a locked upper-cervical joint, or deep neck stabilizers that switched off after an old whiplash and never switched back on. The pain can feel like it is everywhere because the body guards an irritated segment with muscle spasm across the whole shoulder girdle.
The Spine and Wellness Center has served Boca Raton and the surrounding communities since 2005. Dr. Jared Cohen, DC built our process around measurement — surface EMG, thermal scanning and digital X-rays when indicated — so the plan is based on your actual cervical spine. Our main neck pain treatment page explains the full method; this page covers what matters for Boca Raton patients.

What is neck pain treatment in Boca Raton like at The Spine and Wellness Center?
Every plan follows the 4R Method: Repair, Rebuild, Regenerate, Refine. The cervical spine heals in that order, and skipping ahead is the most common reason neck care fails.
Repair — take the pressure off
For disc and nerve patterns, the Repair phase centers on cervical spinal decompression on the Triton DTS table — about 20 minutes of gentle, computer-controlled traction that lowers pressure inside the disc. We pair it with precise, low-force cervical adjustments at the segments generating the pain, plus cold laser or therapeutic ultrasound for inflammation. Typically 3–5 visits a week for 4–8 weeks.
Rebuild — correct what caused it
Once the nerve is quiet, we restore the architecture: corrective adjustments for the cervical curve, physical therapy to retrain the deep neck flexors and the muscles between the shoulder blades, and Graston soft-tissue work for the fibrotic tissue that forms around an old strain. Usually 2–3 visits a week for 8–16 weeks.
Regenerate and Refine — keep it
Regenerate adds red light, PEMF and IHHT oxygen therapy to support tissue recovery, typically twice a week for two months or more. Refine is a brief tune-up roughly monthly to protect the correction through desk weeks and long drives. Most Boca Raton patients finish with a neck that no longer produces the next flare.
Which neck pain patterns do we see most from Boca Raton?
The pattern of your pain says a lot before any image does. These are the four we see most often in Boca Raton patients, and how each tends to show up:
- Cervical disc: pain that runs into the shoulder blade, arm or hand, often with tingling or numbness; worse looking down or with a sudden turn. When the disc loads a nerve root, the arm symptoms are the clue.
- Facet joint: sharp, local pain on one side that stops the head turning fully; worse looking up or back, and stiff first thing in the morning.
- Postural (‘tech neck’): a dull ache across the base of the skull and tops of the shoulders that builds through the workday and eases on weekends. Often paired with cervicogenic headaches.
- Old whiplash: a neck that never fully recovered from a collision — intermittent flares, reduced motion, and muscles that guard at the slightest provocation. See our whiplash guide.
Arm symptoms matter most. Numbness, tingling or weakness in the arm or hand means a nerve root is involved, and nerve pain responds best to decompression rather than to more stretching. Mayo Clinic notes that most neck pain improves with conservative care and that imaging is not needed for most people without nerve symptoms or trauma (Mayo Clinic, Neck pain). Our job is to be the care that works first.
What happens at your first two visits?
The first appointment is built around a proper examination — and, when it’s appropriate, your care starts the same day. A quick look followed by a neck adjustment is how neck pain gets managed instead of resolved.
Visit one: measurement
Expect a proper conversation about your history, screen habits and goals, then a hands-on exam: head and shoulder posture, cervical motion in every direction, orthopedic and nerve-tension tests, and a neurological screen of reflexes, strength and sensation in the arms. We follow that with surface EMG and thermal scanning along the spine, which maps muscle guarding and likely nerve irritation in a way we can re-scan later. If the exam calls for it, digital X-rays show the cervical curve, disc spacing and wear underneath.
Visit two: your report of findings
We sit down with your images and scans and explain what is driving the pain, which 4R phase you start in, how often you will come and for how long. Then Most patients have already begun care on visit one; this is where the full plan takes over. If you would rather arrive informed, the 60-second spine assessment gives us your Spine Score and likely pattern before you leave Boca Raton.

What helps neck pain at home — and when to see a doctor instead
What you do in the 23 hours a day you are not with us matters. For most Boca Raton patients, these habits make the biggest difference:
- Chin tucks, not neck rolls. Gentle chin tucks several times a day wake up the deep neck flexors that hold the head where it belongs.
- Eye-level screens. Phone up, laptop up, monitor at eye height. Forward-head posture is the quiet load on every cervical disc.
- Reset on the drive. Headrest touching the back of the head, shoulders down, a minute of movement at every stop.
- One good pillow. Head level with the spine on your side or back; stomach sleeping twists the neck for hours.
- Ice, then heat. Ice for the first two days of a flare; heat for stiffness after that.
Some symptoms mean the neck is not the only problem and need a physician the same day: progressive weakness in an arm or hand, numbness in both arms or the legs, fever with a stiff neck, new balance or walking problems, or neck pain following a significant fall or crash. In those cases please see a doctor or urgent care today. Otherwise, you are in the right place — and our guides to neck pain relief and headache treatment are a good next read.

Frequently asked questions
Is it safe to have my neck adjusted?
Cervical adjustments at our clinic are gentle and specific, chosen after a full exam, scans and X-rays when indicated. We use low-force techniques where appropriate and never adjust a segment we have not measured. Your exam on visit one tells us what is safe and appropriate for your neck.
How quickly will I feel a difference?
Many patients notice a meaningful change in the first two to three weeks of the Repair phase, once pressure comes off the irritated disc or joint. Lasting results depend on finishing the Rebuild phase, which corrects posture and the cervical curve. We re-scan along the way so progress is measured rather than guessed.
Can neck pain cause headaches?
Yes. Cervicogenic headaches start in the upper cervical joints and muscles and are felt at the base of the skull, behind the eye or across the forehead. Treating the neck — joint motion, suboccipital muscle tension and posture — usually reduces both the neck pain and the headaches that come with it.
Do you offer same-day appointments for Boca Raton patients?
Usually, yes. Same-day appointments are often available at our Coral Springs clinic, about 20 to 25 minutes from Boca Raton, so neck pain treatment in Boca Raton can start the week you call. Your first visit is a measurement visit — exam, surface EMG and thermal scans, X-rays when indicated — and your plan and treatment begin on visit two, typically within a few days.
